Jenna's style.

Jenna Lyons  is one of my style icons, the J.Crew creative director that practically invented mens-wear as womenswear.

She is currently one of the most high-profile women in consumer fashion and was one of only three fashion people listed in Time Magazine’s top 100 most influential people list for 2013.
The 44-year-old is president and creative director of J Crew, the crown jewel of the US high street. She manages everything from the clothes to what the stores look like and right now, she is overseeing the company’s most challenging project to date, the opening of its first store outside of North America in London on Regent Street.
Lyons joined J Crew aged 21, after graduating from Parsons School of Design in New York. She’s been there ever since, working her way up from being an ‘assistant to an assistant to someone else’s assistant’.
In 2003 she was brought on board to help turn around the fate of the once ailing catalogue-only brand then known for nothing more than its casual basics.
Jenna got rid of pieces she felt no longer worked, improved the quality of its fabrics and introduced statement costume jewellery and pieces that tap into the fashion zeitgeist but with the average woman in mind. For that reason, J Crew is one of the few places where mothers, daughters and granddaughters can shop together.
